Summer Music Series

The Ensemble Swing Time is a 16 piece big band from Knoxville, TN that specializes in classic big band swing and features original arrangements made famous by Glenn Miller, Harry James, the Dorsey Brothers and other great bands from the Swing Era.
The Definition of Swing: In the early thirty's a radio announcer introduced his Sunday afternoon show this way:" And now the new style of music that you can tap your toe to, dance to, sing to or just sit on your porche and swing to."
The Ensemble Swing Time will present a selection of the different style/variety of swing music.  The music of the swing era draws from the whole realm of compositions from the classics to the popular.  The concert will feature music written or arranged by Berlin, Rogers, Gray, May, Nestico and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
